Pride of Britain 2012

The 2012 Pride of Britain Awards (televised by ITV) featured a nominee by the name of Jack Carroll, an aspiring comedian (he was 14 at the time).

Jack has Cerebral Palsy and was visited at his home by Jimmy, to be told that he’d been nominated and given his invite. Nice to hear their humorous exchange, below, and Jimmy sat with him during the show, in between nipping up on stage to make presentations with John Bishop (seen in this Facebook video). And a slightly shorter version here…

Filming was 29th October 2012 at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

In 2013 Jack entered Britain’s Got Talent (his routine is here) and Jimmy praised Jack’s skills at writing one liners. Unfortunately, Jack was runner up in the final.

Attendees / presenters on the night included:

  • The then Prince Charles, Prince of Wales
  • Carol Vorderman – host
  • Jimmy Carr
