Movie Star

Jimmy Carr: Movie Star

Okay, so the title is a dodgy start…my bad.

I needed a full list of the films that Jimmy has appeared in, to link in to the Bio page (currently being overhauled). This is that list.

The “full details” links have more about the plotlines, the role he played, whether the film made any money and (where I could find them) images and video clips.

Let’s be brutally honest, he’s never going to win an Oscar. But anyone who has watched shows like Cats Countdown or spoofs like the C4 Comedy Galas (2010 and 2011 and 2012) will know that he can convincingly deliver lines, with an appropriate facial expression. Which also suggests that he’s not as Botox’d up as people would assume.

And the winner is…

2006 04: Alien Autopsy

A film about the Roswell Incident and starring Ant and Dec. Jimmy’s part in this is apparently a “cameo”, as Gavin (the manager of Ant McPartlin’s character, Gary).

2006 05: Confetti

Jimmy had a proper role in this film, as a bridal magazine owner. And this one was actually was a box office success.

2006 07: Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker

He has quite a sizeable part in this film as John Crawford, an MI6 man.

2007 02: I Want Candy

Jimmy only had a cameo role in this film, as a video store guy. He is also credited as contributing some “additional dialogue”.

2009 06: Telstar: The Joe Meek Story

Jimmy had some dialogue in one scene of this film, about the creator of the 1962 hit Telstar.

2012: Hotel GB

This is listed here because its more “acting” than presenting (he’s playing an Event Manager in a Hotel) so it doesn’t fit my other categorisations. However, it’s not a movie.

2016: Comedians Guide to Survival

Although this is a cinema released film Jimmy’s cameo was just being himself on stage.

2025: Fackham Hall

This one is the real deal. Aside from writing and production credits he also plays a Vicar that cannot understand the punctuation in his sermons.
