A special dental report…to refute some press nonsense that keeps popping into my searches.
The problem with this kind of story is that ONE paper writes it and then, because the press are struggling with finances, everyone else does a copy / paste job without fact checking.
The story is that one of the cosmetic surgery procedures that Jimmy had was having his teeth knocked out and replaced. That part is fine. He’s talked about it many times.
What is wholly inaccurate is that he spent “12 weeks in a clinic”.
The culprits for this story include (just to name a FEW) the ones below. Chosen to give you an idea of how this spreads through social platforms etc (and this was just the first page of search results).

- Manchester Evening News – here
- Manchester Evening News on Facebook – here
- Wales Online – here
- Plymouth Herald – here
- Funniest Stand Up on Threads – here

Because multiple sites post the same nonsense Google AI then assumes it’s accurate – but then also expands the story by adding in procedures that he had on different dates.

The hair transplant was NOT done at the same time, nor at the same clinic / surgery / dental practice. And he has said that he has a “Botox top up” several times a year – and that wouldn’t require a clinic stay.
The comments reported (about the Forth Bridge and “Botox use would be cheating in LOL”) were made – but in different interviews on radio or podcast.
As you can see from the screenshot – we now have a TOTAL fabrication from a mish-mash of misinformation.
All of these “AI Nonsense” stories are under this tag here. What’s worrying is that if I’ve found SO MANY examples of this, relating to this ONE person, exactly how bad IS the text that AI is assembling? Are people relying on it for important issues (health, finance etc.) and getting very poor information back?
How Long Did The Dental Work Take?
The ACTUAL length of time was that he had treatment across 3 days and the first 2 days lasted 12 hours each. He didn’t say it was CONSECUTIVE days either. Just 3 days of work with 2 of those days lasting 12 hours and having “temporary things on” in between.
As someone that has had dental implants, I can confirm that multiple appointments are normal, even just for single teeth, and sometimes weeks apart.
The story had first been told on Gabby Logan’s Mid-Point podcast (here) but many of these “12 weeks” stories / posts are supposedly quoting a March 2025 Telegraph interview (here) which never even mentions the specifics of a timeframe.
And “Funniest Stand Up” are listed both above AND below as they quote weeks above and hours below, despite both posts being on the same day.
Once more, for old times’ sake:
Jimmy Carr did NOT have a 12 week stay in a dental clinic.
