Couple of design type things fiddled with, on the blog this week:
Wisdom amongst the funny
New page (here).
The Bio (here) had some stuff in it about the more serious responses in the crowd work videos. To shorten it a tiny bit (it was over 8,000 words) I’ve moved this text out to a page of its own.
It’s some of the more serious / poignant responses given and, at the end, a list of some his most memorable quotes.
The page will grow over time and additions noted on the Updated page.
Bio
Which also means…I’ve tidied up / checked over the Bio again. Despite my moving out the “wise quotes” section…the Bio got longer. Whoops. 8,400+ now.
Awards
This page has had a few updates lately – see here.
Deleting old posts
Old posts relating to things like gig announcements need clearing out every now and then and 75 have been removed so far this year.
Annoyingly, I’ve noticed that search engines pick up posts and pages on a daily basis – but then will never let them go again.
If you ever search for something and, after clicking, are told it doesn’t exist – if you search for the topic within the blog the information MAY have been consolidated somewhere else. Or it’s just junk info. Wish I could nuke them.
Redirects
Finally found the time to look for a redirect plugin.
Where a post got out of hand (and was changed to a much longer Page) you will see something like the examples below (if you entered the blog through a search query). I’ve left the posts there because, as mentioned above, they are being clicked on from search engine results and never disappear.
It’s supposed to redirect within 0 seconds but sometimes does briefly show the “redirect message” – but they are better than before.
