The 11 O’clock Show started in September 1998 and ended December 2000. Series 1-4 was hosted by Iain Lee and Daisy Donovan – with additional presentation roles taken by Mackenzie Crook, Fred MacAulay and Brendon Burns.
It was a launching pad for the careers of Ricky Gervais (54 episodes) and Sacha Baron Cohen (playing Ali G – 45 episodes) and also had Rich Hall, Danny Bhoy, Ben Miller, Hal Cruttenden, Marcus Brigstocke, Dom Joly, Andrew Maxwell, Jeffrey Ross, Reginald D Hunter, Dave Attell, Robin Ince as cast members (and many more – see IMDB for cast listing and stills). Even Robbie Williams was in S4 Ep24.
The writers also include people like Charlie Brooker (went on to work with Jimmy on, among other things, 10 O’Clock Live in 2011) and Shaun Pye (one of the writers on some of the BFQ shows) and Charlie Skelton (a writer on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown).
As you may have gathered by now the gang of British comedians (both as writers and performers) have been dipping in and out of shows with each other for 25+ years.
For the 5th and final series, the hosting roles were taken over by Sarah Alexander and Jon Holmes and Jimmy featured in sketches in these S5 episodes:
Ep8 – 13th Oct 2000
Ep15 – 26th Oct 2000
Ep21 – 8th Nov 2000
Ep25 – 22nd Nov 2000
The clip below is from 13th Oct 2000 (Ep8) and the sketch of Jimmy at a Lib Dem Conference starts from 15 mins 50 (just in case this embed takes you back to the start).
