In the video When a heckler says his wife is his best friend Jimmy speaks to a 25-year-old (around the 1.5-minute mark) after an audience member text is posted on screen (saying that he needs to get a job). As a part of the chat with him Jimmy suggests that he “aim higher and miss” and talks about using Self Authoring.

Self Authoring refers to a programme that Jordan B Peterson has been involved in creating. It’s about examining the past and future story of your life and understanding yourself better. I won’t repeat the full website blurb – worth having a look at, even if you don’t intend doing it.

*BTW – in the video Jimmy says it’s “around 200 bucks” – but it now seems to be down at $29.90.

Jimmy has an interest in self-improvement and, in his 2021 11 podcast with Dr Peterson, they discussed Jimmy’s results on another test – Understanding Myself.

Understanding Myself seems to be a step on the way to Jordan developing the Self Authoring suite and is more like a Myers Briggs type test, where your results give you some idea of your personality type (and knowing your personality type can help you go choose the right career path).
