On 22nd June 2004 Jimmy was at the Mojo Music Awards at the Banqueting House, Whitehall, London. He did 10 minutes of stand up and then had an award to present (I don’t think he was hosting the whole show and very little remains, relating to this evening, online).
Attended by such as Sting, Morrissey, James Brown, Hank Marvin, Noel Gallagher and the Red Hot Chili Peppers the photo agencies (Getty, Alamy) appear to have pictures of everyone except JC.
I won’t spoil the punchline to the story, in the video below, but Jimmy mentions presenting a lifetime achievement award to Anthony Kiedis. I can’t find any trace of that – but the Red Hot Chili Peppers did win a Maverick Award.
Still a great story!
