Having ventured to Canada’s Just For Laughs in 2002 – Jimmy was back for his second festival in 2003. JFL / Just for Laughs / Juste pour rire ran from July 10th to 20th this year.
A May Chortle article told us that Jimmy would be appearing in the O’Comics “showcase for Irish talent” – although I cannot find any evidence that it ever happened. It’s more likely that, as mentioned elsewhere, he was performing as a part of Britcom (although I cannot find the exact dates or venues).
Shecky Magazine is always good for write ups of JFL and they reported on a Montreal Gazette article, listing Jimmy as one of the “buzzees”.
One event that I have a date for is that he delivered a live news report (on what was happening in Montreal) to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, on July 18th. Reported by The Globe and Mail they describe Jimmy as “a wickedly funny Irishman”.
