It’s been announced this week that Sky’s A League of Their Own (ALOTO) will be ending this year, after 15 seasons.
Jimmy first appeared on it in April 2010 (S1, Ep6) – when his friend, James Corden, hosted it and the captains were also mates of his – John Bishop and Jamie Redknapp. Since then, there have been many variations on Host/Captains and (personally) I think the show lost its way a bit some time ago. It still had some highlights, but was starting to look a little too forced.
Jimmy’s most recent guest spot was December 2023 (S18, Ep7) and, including F1 (S17, Ep3) and S7 Rally shows. I think he’s been on 26 times – Chortle estimates 24. The count difference is possibly because the Rally/F1 shows tended to be him appearing as a “surprise” reveal – so the driving episode plus the studio appearance were possibly counted as a single booking, spread across 2 dates.
Plus, another 29 appearances in episodes of Unseen, Highlights or Best Bits compilations.
