The 2010 Edinburgh Fringe ran from August 6th to the 30th and Jimmy took his Laughter Therapy tour there, for his 9th solo show. His Rapier Wit tour had ended earlier that year and had sold over 300,000 tickets.
Making his customary appearance at the EICC Venue 150 he appeared for 8 nights (21st and 22nd / 24th to 29th). Shows started at 21.30 and lasted 75minutes. Tickets were £16.
Written and performed by: Jimmy Carr
His Edinburgh show blurbs said:
If you have a sick sense of humour maybe laughter is the best medicine. Not to be taken if you have a sensitive disposition. Recommended dose: one new show to be taken annually (I said annually)
Or this version:
If you have a sick sense of humour maybe laughter is the best medicine. “Laughter Therapy” is Jimmy’s 9th solo show. It’ll be an evening of none stop jokes, gags and banter. Since the turn of the century Jimmy has been a “fun slinger” of international repute. Not to be taken if you have a sensitive disposition or an overactive moral compass. Recommended dose: one brand new show to be taken annually (I said annually)
Note: Over 16s only. Adult themes, strong language
Posters advertised that his Making People Laugh DVD would be released in Nov.
On his 8th night (29th) he recorded this interview backstage. I’m always fascinate by how calm he is.
