Altitude Festival 2012 ran from March 26-31 and was held in Mayrhofen, Austria. The festival had previously ran for 3 years in Méribel, France, and was the brainchild of Andrew Maxwell and Marcus Brigstocke.
There is a 2012 interview (with Andrew talking about how it all came about) in the British Comedy Guide. With his analysis of Jimmy as a “focused and very generous man” who has said “there’s no f**king way he’s going down any of the slopes”.
Chortle’s Steve Bennett declares, in this article, that “Jimmy Carr’s an idiot” because he flew in, did his slot and then flew out again “missing everything else this fantastic event has to offer”.
My take on that would be – Andrew had said (in the Huff Post) that Jimmy was one of several big names, willing to do a friend a favour and turn up. The Austrian venue was a 900-seater (Europhaus) of overly refreshed skiers and he flew out to go to Montreal, for JFL. He was due to host Britcom on the 26th so how on earth he managed it, I’m not sure (presumably time zones aligned – Austria is 6 hours ahead of Montreal). But JFL, especially at that time, was a massive festival and you can’t question his priorities.
So, the line up for his sole appearance (apparently in this order – according to this blog).
