In 2020 a documentary was made about Micky Flanagan: Peeping Behind the Curtain and aired on Sky One on December 18th. It was described as “new and revealing interviews with Micky himself, the documentary offers a backstage pass to Micky’s career, from early raw material in the East End to staging the world’s biggest comedy tour in 2017”.
Towards the end Micky meets up with Jimmy in a comedy club that Jimmy said he probably hadn’t entered in 18 years. Last time he’d been there he said he “got £60 cash on the door and HMRC didn’t see any of it”. He may have been joking…you never know!
They talked about their different work ethics (Micky is lazy, by his own admission) and playing arenas, performing comedy etc.
The 2 of them had started out, in pubs and clubs around the same time and, currently, the earliest that I’ve found them in the same place was 2003, at the Banana Cabaret in January and Edinburgh in July.
