2016 saw Jimmy off to Canada for his 12^th Just For Laughs (JFL). This year Montreal hosted the 34^th comedy festival from July 13^th to 31^st.

Jimmy had already been in Canada for a week a couple of months previously. From April 30^th he’d been on his Funny Business tour and had fitted in 8 gigs across Toronto, Algonquin (2 shows), Halifax, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. That last venue was May 7^th and it was then back to Europe to hit Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, Norway, Latvia, Netherland, Belgium…with lots of UK dates slotted in between.

He posted out (on what was then Twitter) that he was heading to Canada on the 23^rd and he had to be back in the UK for August 2^nd (gig in Macclesfield, Gawsworth Hall). Which means he was only in Montreal for the last 7-8 days of JFL.

He probably did NOT perform in…

This year Jimmy doesn’t participate in Brit(ish). For anyone interested – it was at Club Soda (capacity being a little over 500 when in a tabled formation, as it was for this event) for 2 shows on the 26^th and Mark Watson hosted. The rest of the line-up featured:

I also can find no evidence that he appeared on The Nasty Show 2016 (which ran from July 20-30).

Another show that promised Jimmy’s participation was the Russell Peters Gala on July 30^th (Montreall). It was advertised as being at Salle Wilfred Pelletier (with tickets at $55.50 – $109.31) and starring Jimmy, Russell Kane and Roy Woods Jnr. I can find nothing else, other than that single mention, so am not sure if it went ahead or who was on the line up.

Funny Business, July 25^th to 30^th, Le Gesù

His Funny Business Netflix special had been released in March of 2016 and meant he was the first British comedian to feature on Netflix.
