Play To The Whistle was an ITV panel show, hosted by Holly Willoughby, that ran between 2015 and 2017 (19 episodes & 1 highlights special). It was announced in September 2017 that it was going to be rested.
The show had 2 permanent Team Captains (Bradley Walsh and Frank Lampard), with 2 panellists each, plus Seann Walsh doing some of the intro work.
Romesh Ranganathan was a Regular Panellist and Geoff Norcott was on the writing team.
Series 3, Episode 2 aired on March 7th 2017 and featured:
- Frank Lampard – Captain
- James Anderson
- Romesh Ranganathan
And on the opposing team
- Bradley Walsh – Captain
- Alan Shearer
- Jimmy Carr
Seann Walsh and David Seaman also featured.
The dynamic between Bradley and Jimmy is ALWAYS fun to watch and especially on this show. At one point Bradley ends up flat out on the floor with Jimmy squatting beside him asking “what is the point of you?”
