On May 19^th and 20^th 2012 Kapow! Comic Convention was held at the London Business Design Centre. On the 20^th the final panel of the weekend featured Jimmy interviewing / doing an audience Q&A with Frankie Boyle.

I’ve no idea whether this was a “corporate” type job or just Jimmy tagging along with comic book nerds Frankie Boyle and Jonathan Ross (who are real comic enthusiasts and collectors). Although Jimmy had dabbled in developing the plot for a CLiNT comic strip the year before (here).

In 2012 Frankie was writing a strip (Rex Royd) for CLiNT magazine, which is how this came about. There’s a good write up of their session here and a brief video, below. When Jimmy asked Frankie who was the biggest nerd in UK Comedy (Jonathan Ross or Dara O’Briain) Frankie immediately answered “JR”. I’m not sure why but Jonathan did a spot of wrestling…! In this ComicNewsInsider article it says that Jimmy was asked for an interview but had to decline as “his missus was ill and he had to get back”.
