The Upstart Crow is a Ben Elton sitcom creation, starring David Mitchell as Will (Shakespeare). It ran on BBC2 from 2016 to 2020, 21 episodes in total.

It was launched (with a press night) as a Theatre show (Gielgud Theatre) on February 17^th 2020 and then there was a “plague on all our houses” and it had to re-open in 2022.

Meanwhile Jimmy and Karoline were there for their friend, on opening night (2020).
