Celebrity Juice 2014

For anyone outside of the UK that may not know the series. Celebrity Juice was a Leigh Francis show that ran from 2008 to 2022 (over 300 episodes), on ITV2. A real marmite show…it was hated by the critics, but you don’t run for 14 years without having some sort of audience (1.6m viewers at its peak). In 2012 it was ITV2s “most watched show ever” – Digital Spy.

A comedy panel show (with the usual format of 2 captained teams, with 2 guests each to assist) the difference here being that it was being hosted by Leigh’s alter ego, Keith Francis.

It was full of smut, innuendo and bad taste games – but some of the criticism was deflected by the Team Captains originally being Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton (and they gave as good as they got). This was a show designed for the “coming home from the pub” crowd.

Jimmy’s first appearance was not until S12 Ep8, the Hallowe’en Special, which also featured within Ep12 (Best Bits) shown on December 18th 2014.

  • Leigh Francis (Keith Lemon) – host
  • Fearne Cotton – Captain
  • Chris Ramsey
  • Jimmy Carr
  • Gino D’Acampo – Captain
  • Richard Hammond
  • Jessie J

As an example, from this show – Jessie J is chewing gum and Keith removes it from her and chews it. Jimmy then chews it. Then Gino. Then Richard. The “gross-out” level then goes up a notch when Gino launches into a bit about a “71” and his wife pooping on his face. It’s always a surprise when Jimmy isn’t the smuttiest on a show (he never looked completely relaxed with exactly how schoolboy things got).

Some of the best pictures from Jimmy’s transformation are, unfortunately, in places that may be behind a firewall / paywall for some people. Jimmy did post a series of pics on his Instagram but that site is IMPOSSIBLE to search within, although I did find a couple on his X account, below.

If you can see it – the Daily Mail has the best set of images – here.

The Irish Mirror has 3 images – here. And they have a GIF series, not sure if it works, but the link is here. Although the completely missed the point by describing his costume as a “wrinkly old man”.

This actually looks more to me like an homage to his mate Robbie Williams’ amazing 2000 video for Rock DJ. In a bid to get the attention of the women roller skating around him, he removes all of his clothes – and then pulls his skin off and ends up showing the bloody muscles and tendons underneath – see here. Amazing video. Great song.

For all Jimmy’s appearances on Juice – see here.
