In 2024 Jimmy recorded an episode of 2 Bears, 1 Cave. The episode wasn’t published until May 13th but there is a reference to the Tom Brady Roast “last night” (the 5th). Meaning this record was probably the 6th.
Jimmy had been in Los Angeles for Netflix Is a Joke Fest (here) from May 4th to 8th. The journey from LA to the podcast’s normal YMH studio (in Austin, Texas) is a 3+ hour flight, so, as they were all in LA for the Festival, I’d assume that an LA studio was rented.
Jimmy also mentions flying to New York to do The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (here) which recorded on the 10th.
This background (of them all being at the Netflix Fest and Tom Brady Roast) is more important than usual as this isn’t your usual “deep thinking” podcast. It’s 3 comedians name dropping their friends and colleagues and telling war stories. For me – this is the kind of pod that I REALLY love.
Especially as it really demonstrates how much Jimmy loves comedy and how positive he is about fellow comedians. TBF – Tom and Bert are full of compliments too.
Plus it’s brilliant watching Tom giggling, when Jimmy jokes at Bert’s expense and it takes him AGES to notice.
