Scroobius Pip is the professional name of David Meads, an actor podcaster and hip-hop artist. He has a podcast called Distraction Pieces and Jimmy was on #413, broadcast on October 13th 2021.
This was one of the many promo appearances for his book, Before and Laughter – here. At this point he was touring with Terribly Funny, the first iteration of the tour.
It was recorded over Zoom and, having just re-listened to it, you can hear Jimmy’s dogs barking in a few places. First time it happened I pressed pause as I thought it was something outside…
It’s available on several podcast platforms, including Apple, Acast and Global Player.
At the start there’s a couple of adverts and the intro – so Jimmy arrives at 7 minutes and leaves around 59.
The Podcast write up says:
You for sure know Jimmy, for Jimmy is ubiquitous and with good reason – he’s a very funny comedian and always comes through on a panel show. He has a new book out too called Before & Laughter, which is very much a ‘get to know’ kind of book so well worth peeping. He and Pip cover a ton of ground on here too, from the difference pace of feedback loops in comedy and book writing, the trojan horse of standup in panel shows, joke analytics, the legacy of the incredible Sean Lock (RIP), life choices, comedy workouts, comparison as the thief of joy, his well-publicised money issues, being a father and all kinds of life in between. Honest, interesting and very funny – enjoy.
