The UK’s National Portrait Gallery (see here) is in London (see here for location) and a picture of Jimmy was added in 2006 – see here. Not the best image to be there for posterity – but still, quite an accolade.

I’m assuming that photographers submit interesting images and the committee then agrees on submission. The category of comedians (here) only has 224 people within it and some of the pictures are very old.
