Quick update on this blog’s layout.
I’ve had a look, today, at the post / page views, to see what is getting the most visits, and then tweaked the menu items a bit.
For anyone that’s not noticed the Top 10s lists (here) are also clearly showing the popularity of the Booklist – so that’s been promoted to the Main Menu.
The Menu item called Menu (which is helpful links, both in and outside this blog) is still there – but it’s been demoted to the footer section.
Tickets, Tours & Tips
The other improvement is that there was a Tickets! link (going to an old post) on the Main Menu. This is now a page in its own right (here) and one thing that I was trying to solve is that I see people CONSTANTLY, on social media, saying “come to….” when that country has already had shows announced. Worse than that are the poor people that are asking him to visit places that he’d already been to, a few weeks before.
So, the page’s first section of “upcoming locations” is an up to date, alphabetical listing of which countries he is visiting in 2026.
Below that is the links to the ticket listings (for the various territories) on Jimmy’s website.
The final sections are really just advice – from someone that’s been around the block a bit with trying to keep track of new tour dates.
It’s suggesting how to use Mailing Lists and Social Media (and this blog) to make sure you don’t miss a new gig announcement.
The suggestion may sound a bit obvious but it would seem a lot of people don’t know where to find information.
The “upcoming locations” section is the one that I’ll be actively keeping up to date – hence why it’s at the top.
