Is Jimmy Carr the Ultimate Comedy Professor?

Seann Walsh appeared on Chris Evans’s Virgin Radio Show this week and this brief clip is Chris explaining how Jimmy is the “Comedy Professor”.

Despite Seann finding this funny, firstly Chris knows Jimmy very well and talks to lots of comedians (so I doubt he’d just make it up).

Secondly (and probably most relevant, as an example of Jimmy’s helpful side) on Backstage with Katherine Ryan (Amazon, 2022) Katherine Ryan was teasing Jimmy about him mentoring Seann, taking him under his wing.

And, during one of the lockdown periods, the Daily Mail ran pap shots of Jimmy and Seann walking together (see here). I can’t remember my source (so many stories read and podcasts watched) but I seem to recall that Seann, having been “cancelled” for his Strictly kiss, was planning on launching something like a tour or a special on YouTube. So, it’s not a massive leap to assume that this was him asking for advice (at a time when his career was considered over).
