Deadline (here) have an article for the most watched British streamed shows in 2025. For just the streaming services they reported:
- Adolescence / Netflix – 13.2m
- Clarkson’s Farm / Amazon Prime – 7.5m
- Harlan Coben’s Missing You / Netflix – 7.1m
- Wednesday / Netflix – 6.8m
- LOL: Last One Laughing UK S1 / Amazon Prime – 6.2m
- Hostage / Netflix – 5.9m
- Dept. Q / Netflix – 5.8m
- Monster: The Ed Gein Story / Netflix – 5.3m
- Untamed / Netflix – 4.6m
- Stranger Things / Netflix – 4.5m
The problem with streaming figures is always that Netflix / Amazon (and others) are a bit vague about dates and exact numbers.
I wrote on June 7th 2025 (here) that varying reports had LOL at somewhere between 6.1m and 8m – and those numbers started being bandied about quite early on. So, I have 2 problems with the above:
- The Deadline listing says E1 – so is the 6.2m JUST for episode 1 or the full 6 episodes?
- If it was at LEAST 6.1m back in June I’m pretty sure it would be higher by the end of the year?
Regardless – good to see that Amazon got 2 shows in the top 10 and both were fronted by a JC!
The British press, depending on what they are outraged about this week, would have you believe that they are politically incorrect (which is why I love them both), not funny, shouldn’t be on TV – yada yada. Blah Blah.
Viewing figures don’t lie…
