I’m just a lucky boy…

Someone asked, in a show, who inspired him to be a comedian and, on this occasion, he didn’t name names.

In the past (on tons of podcasts and interviews) he’s named such as Billy Connolly, Steven Wright and Emo Philips (and others) and then gone on to talk about how much he admires such as Chris Rock etc. etc.

Maybe he wasn’t in the mood for repeating himself on this occasion…I can’t imagine what it’s like repeating the same stories over and over.

However, I think this response was perhaps jumping off the word “inspired”. He seems to be saying that, when he did his first 5 minutes above a pub, the people slogging around the circuit were his inspiration to keep at it. At a time when comedy was no where near the industry that it is now.

And I add names to them of who else was on the stage / at the festival. Trying to preserve some UK comedy history here!
