April 12^th 2012 and the Evening Standard has a list of Monday’s Top Moments (here). One of those moments, way down the listing, is one of Jimmy’s WIP gigs (Work in Progress – read more about them here).

The venue was the Hen & Chickens, 109 St Paul’s Road, Islington, N1 2NA.

Jimmy was still doing WIP’s for his Gagging Order tour and this evening was a bargain at £5 (a couple of earlier WIP’s, in Grays in Essex, had been advertised at £15). Possibly reduced because this is a 50-ish capacity room in a pub.

I would imagine it was a great show as Jimmy was joined by his mate, Andrew Maxwell (here). The press said:

Sardonic Jimmy Carr, star of Channel 4’s Distraction and up-and-coming Irishman Andrew Maxwell present a double work-in-progress.

The Distraction mention is a little odd (for 2012) as it had finished in 2006. At this point he would have been more famous for 7 years of hosting the Big Fat Quizzes, 8 Out of 10 Cats and had even filmed the C4 mash-ups for Cats Does Countdown.
