Team Jimmy has tipped over the 21 million mark this week, having hit 20m on May 11th (here).

Headline numbers for his follower / subscriber counts (as of 19th August 2026):

  • Facebook – 5,145,881
  • Instagram – 4,335,962
  • Threads – 542,800
  • TikTok – 3,011,031
  • Twitter / X – 5,769,022
  • YouTube (main channel) – 2,064,697
  • YT – More Jimmy Carr – 112,993
  • YT – JC TV – 21,000
  • YT – JC En Espanol – 286
  • YT – JC Shorts – 42,100

Grand total of:

21,045,772

As anyone that has seen this type of stats post before will know – I use Jack Whitehall and Russell Howard as “canaries in the coal mine” as a quick and dirty way to monitor general account trends.

They have quite different comedic styles and if all 3 lose account on, for example, Twitter / X – then that suggests a more widespread issue (rather than lots of people reacting to what’s being posted).

I’ve not done a full count (of my longer list of comics) in a while but, to compare to Jimmy’s 21m:

  • Jack – 16,208,607
  • Russell – 9,065,443

Since February 2025 Russell has gained 83k, overall – but Jack has lost -450k.

Twitter / X

As ever the only account on a downward trend is X – and that is across the board so, whether people are leaving or X are still clearing out bot accounts, totals are down.

Back at the end of May Jimmy had just under a week where he gained 7k+ subs. In that same period Jack Whitehall was -2,329 and Russell Howard -697.

Since June 1st 2026 the change in subs has been:

  • Jimmy -8,775
  • Jack -19,426
  • Russell -6,152

October 2025 was when I first saw press stories about the account purges so if we look at the subs change from when I noticed that numbers had started to drop on September 20th 2025 (to today).

  • Jimmy -596,959
  • Jack -536,082
  • Russell -88,586

The reason for Russell’s loss rate being lower is that he had a lower total to start with. Current X subs numbers:

  • Jimmy 5,769,022
  • Jack 5,224,409
  • Russell 1,112,847

You do wonder how many more accounts can be lost (from the platform). Since January 2025 the loss, just from these 3 accounts, is -1,427,094
