Jimmy had first appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross in 2004 and was back again (for a third time) in a 2006 show (Season 11, Episode 14).

Originally broadcast, in the UK, on December 15 2006 the other guests were Cat Deeley, Don Johnson (of Miami Vice fame), Jack Black (as Tenacious D) and Boy George. In the clip below the first three guests can be seen giggling in the Green Room.

Jimmy and Jonathan’s chat included:

• Reference to the 2006 British Comedy Awards where Jimmy one Best Live Stand-Up tour (for Gag Reflex) and 8 Out of 10 Cats was nominated for a People’s Choice Award. See the Awards & Accolades post under the section for 2006.
• At these awards the presentation, to Jimmy, was by Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays).
• Mention of the snake incident – why on earth someone thought it would be a good idea to have a 24-foot python in that situation is beyond me. Poor thing.
• Jimmy briefly mentioned his dyslexia and that he didn’t learn to write properly until he was 10.
• They talked about joke writing. where the line for offence may be and then exchange some jokes.
• Talked about Jimmy’s new book, released that year, The Naked Jape.
• An amusing segment from 9 minutes where Jonathan is trying to discuss love making and ends up leaning over Jimmy, showing him how horrible it must be to look up at him.
• Jonathan writing a quote for the back of Jimmy’s book.
