In 2011 Jimmy was on his Laughter Therapy tour and, for the first time, incorporated some of his own tour dates within the JFL window.
Just for Laughs Montreal 2011 ran from July 7th to 30th and this was Jimmy’s 7th attendance.
July 22nd to 30th, Laughter Therapy
Jimmy performed at the Gesù / Le Gesu / The Gesu Theatre (delete according to preference) for 9 nights (July 22nd to 30th). Starting at 9.30pm each night, tickets were $32.50. He gets another Gazette Laughter Therapy write up here.
Jeff Ross was at this year’s JFL (and did a Nasty Show) but, at this point, hadn’t yet developed his friendship with Jimmy (on paper, so to speak) in that they were not yet working together on Comedy Roasts etc.
July 27-28th, Russell Peters: Best Night Ever
These gala shows, hosted by Rusell Peters, were filmed at Salle Wilfrid Pelletier (clip of Jimmy’s routine, below). There were actually 4 gala performances (Wed & Thurs at 7pm and 10pm) and it’s a bit muddied as to who appeared on which bill together.
As one article said Jimmy was on the “3rd gig” and, as he had to perform at Le Gesu at 9.30pm, I’m assuming he was on the Thursday (28th) 7pm show.
