2012 saw Jimmy on his Gagging Order tour and he gave an interview to The Daily Record about his upcoming 9th solo Edinburgh Fringe show. The interview is worth a read – if only for the story, towards the bottom, where a guy approaches Jimmy (walking home with his girlfriend Karoline) and asks for his penis signing…
In the above interview he chats about how, in the early days, he had to sleep in his car or on the floor of someone’s rented flat. But he still encourages aspiring comedians to go to Edinburgh to soak up the atmosphere, laugh and find out whether they really want to try for a career in comedy.
The Fringe 2012 ran from August 3 to 27.
Once again, he’s at the EICC Venue 150 (Edinburgh International Conference Centre), for 6 nights (August 16 to 18 and 23 to 25). The 75-minute show started at 9.20pm and tickets were £18.50.
The show blurb said:
Brand new show, brand new jokes, same old Jimmy. Packed with one-liners, stories and jokes – some clever, some rude and a few totally unacceptable. Leave your conscience at home and come on out for a laugh.
And the alternate, longer, version said:
Brand new show, brand new jokes, same old Jimmy. Packed with one-liners, stories and jokes – some clever, some rude and a few totally unacceptable. Everybody’s welcome. Just leave your conscience, sense of common decency and moral compass at home and come on out for a laugh. Jimmy has sold over a million DVDs and hosted countless TV shows but live comedy is what he does best, come and see for yourself.
