In 2011 Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle met up at the Apple store in Regent Street, London for a Meet The Comedians podcast, in front of around 100 people. Promoting their new releases the podcast was published on Apple Podcasts on Nov 28 2011. Video version below.

  • Jimmy Carr – Being Funny (DVD) / Gagging Order (tour)
  • Frankie Boyle – Work! Consume! Die! (book) – The Last Days of Sodom (tour)

I love this interview, with the two of them having fun together. Highly recommended.

Audience questions

  • In comedy who couldn’t Frankie care less about?
  • Have either of you ever regretted telling a joke?
  • Jimmy you obviously really enjoy the live performance side and for the last few years you’ve been touring pretty relentlessly. Is that something you plan to do for the next 20 or 30 years or do you have other things you are going to work on?
  • When you tour the country do you have to change your routines…?
  • Do you have a fav place in the country to play?
  • Do you have a definitive moment in comedy where you sort of thought “I am funny”?
  • Are there any particular topics you think are taboo?
  • Want to congratulate the cameraman, who is doing a wonderful job
  • How do you feel about hecklers?
  • How did both of your first gigs go?
  • It’s my birthday tmrw and I’d really life you to say to me “happy birthday”

Recommending other comics to check out

  • Doug Stanhope
  • Anthony Jeselnik
  • Maria Bamford
  • Louis CK
  • Bill Burr
  • George Carlin
  • Billy Connolly
  • Dave Chappelle
  • Chris Rock

There is another version here that is REALLY poor quality and is somehow 5 minutes longer. The extra part doesn’t seem to be on the end and I couldn’t get up the enthusiasm to watch it, to find out.
