Jo Caulfield and Stephen K Amos organise an annual fund raiser, at the London Comedy Store, in aid of St George’s Hospital and Royal Trinity Hospice.
It’s called Big Love, Big Laughs and, so far as I can tell, 2018 was possibly the first one. Held on December 3rd tickets were £35 and the comedians were (in alphabetical order – which is as they appeared on the promo posters):
- Stephen K Amos
- Nina Benjamin
- John Bishop
- Jimmy Carr
- Jo Caulfield
- Omid Djalili
- Lenny Henry
- Zoe Lyons
- Al Murray
- Graham Norton
- Katherine Ryan
- Seann Walsh
Posters noted that the event was “in memory of Annie Caulfield and Stella Keep” and that “all artists are giving of their time on a voluntary basis”. I think that latter statement is to make it clear that no one was getting paid…
According to this Annual Report (page 18) the event raised almost £30,000 through ticket sales and a raffle. Considering the London Comedy Store only holds about 400 this is pretty good going.
