The BFF reported on March 4th 2009 that Jimmy had visited Headley Court Rehabilitation Centre, Surrey (now closed down and relocated to Stanford Hall, DMRC).

The article says:

BRITAIN’S top stand-up comedian, Jimmy Carr, visited staff and patients at Headley Court Rehabilitation Centre with The British Forces Foundation.

He spent his time chatting with individuals, and signed books and dvds that he’d taken along to hand out.

Jimmy’s visit was hugely appreciated by soldiers, sailors, airmen and women at the Centre, most of whom were there as a result of traumatic injuries suffered in the war in Afghanistan.

The visit had, said the comedian, “really made him think”, and that he was very happy to assist with the work of The BFF in the future

The Charity’s Director, Mark Cann, added: “Jimmy was very funny, and the patients and staff alike thoroughly enjoyed his company.”

This visit was the catalyst for his Paralympics joke, which got him into trouble later this year.
