May 5th 2020 Jimmy was posing, over Zoom, for his portrait to be painted in aid of NHS Charities Together and the National Emergencies Trust.
This was a collaboration between The Arts Club and the portrait artist, Ian Bruce. The series of paintings raised £26,000 and you can see some of them (including Jimmy’s) here.
Jimmy’s painting was £5,000 and I can’t remember whether he had to pay for it (I assume so) – but May 5th was the final sitting and it was live streamed over Instagram.
During the Livestream (which lasted an hour) they chatted away about, amongst lots of other things, what it was like to be stuck at home, unable to perform, and Ian mentioned that he was impressed that Jimmy had a lighting rig at home. Turned out it was from the Little Tiny Quiz of Lockdown.
Just another example of what bored people got up to, when not allowed to leave the house.
