As a part of the 2008 Sport Relief charity fundraiser (a spin-off of Comic Relief) the Royal Albert Hall hosted a tennis exhibition match. It was broadcast on March 14th.
This men’s doubles match featured:
- Jimmy Carr / Pat Cash
- Jonathan Ross / Greg Rusedski
Getty Images have 48 great pictures here of both the match and Jonathan / Jimmy messing around at the promo photo shoot beforehand.
I found 4 videos that are all (mostly) different. Looks like they had great fun!!
This video has some footage of the match (and lots of messing around).
Part 1 has locker room chat, trash talking and a practice match with a little girl making up the 4 (when Jimmy turns up). A little girl that is better than at least 2 of them! And then Jimmy goes to Wimbledon to meet Cash.
Part 2 features John Lloyd saying Jimmy reminds him of Nadal…without the biceps. At 2 games each they have a sudden death tie break. Cash and Carr win!
The video below (out of order, I know, but slightly lower quality than the above) has Jonathan and Jimmy warming up. They have been tennis partners for many years and Jonathan mentions that they “play 2-3 times a week” (or did, back in 2008).
