I’ve been trying for some time to pin down the dates when Jimmy did a show at XFM radio, with Iain Morris co-presenting.

Otherwise, the only other mention (of dates) was in Jimmy’s Tour Programme for the Gag Reflex tour. The programme contains a couple of pages on XFM and Jimmy introduced the section with:

I’ve done a radio show for the past three years with Iain Morris on XFM…

Assuming that the programmes were printed in time for the start of the tour – WIP gigs / Edinburgh performances were August 2006. The tour proper started around October which suggested that the XFM show began 2003 sometime?

2005 Episode

As usual, while looking for something COMPLETELY unrelated, something popped up…and audio file of just short of 14 minutes of Jimmy (and presumably Iain, chipping in) talking to the bassist of the Manic Street Preachers (I think it’s the bassist…the recording starts without a proper intro). Dated April 17^th 2005, it gives you a taste of what Jimmy as a Radio DJ sounds like.

I’ve seen lots of comments on forums saying how much their show was loved – and I can see why. Especially when he surprises their guest with his music knowledge.
