The 2008 Jonathan Ross Hallowe’en party was on October 31st and this year was a tricky one (for finding details) as “Sachsgate” had just erupted.
Brand had been sacked by the BBC and left the country and Jonathan had stepped down from the British Comedy awards.
The Daily Mail had some costume images but noted, during the day, that a “miserable looking Jimmy Carr” put in appearance. Which I would translate as “Jonathan’s house was being besieged by the press, Jimmy was trying to get inside to check up on his friend, and the paps were shouting out demands for a quote that he was never going to give them”.

Update: I had a picture in here of Jimmy in his Batman costume which he’d posted on X saying “2008”. Should never trust a comedian…that was his 2009 costume. See here.
Can find no trace of him wearing a costume on 2008 (and I’ve just been scouring his old X posts).
Most likely because, on Oct 31st, he had a gig in Swansea.
