As 2012 began Jimmy had finished up his Laughter Therapy tour and was starting Work in Progress (WIP) gigs for Gagging Order.

The gigs identified as WIP were:

• Soho Theatre – 13 & 14 Jan
• The Hen and Chickens Theatre – 20 Jan
• Theatre Royal, Winchester – 3 Feb
• The Core at Corby Cube, Corby – 11 Feb
• Artrix, Bromsgrove – 11 Mar
• Grays Civic Hall, Grays – 22 & 24 Mar
• Bloomsbury Theatre – 27 Mar
• Town Hall, Loughborough – 30 Mar
• Guildford G Live – 1 May

In between he was performing lots of other gigs, so I’m assuming that these are the shows where he was experimenting with material.

The 2 gigs in Grays, Essex are detailed in the Thurrock Gazette and it mentions that tickets are £15 (the reduced price for a WIP gig).

I’d started to look into the Grays shows because of the video below. Back in 2012 Jimmy was still doing meet and greets, after shows, and this clip shows someone asking for his face to be signed.

From what I’ve seen people often ask for “body signatures” to get tattoos and Jimmy sometimes refused (depending on where it was and the level of alcohol the person had consumed).

You can only assume that he thinks the man will regret a face signature later – but he does eventually agree to sign his neck.
