Although Jimmy had been involved previously in the Royal Variety etc. this was the first time he had performed at The Prince’s Trust. We Are Most Amused was on November 28th 2012 (at the Royal Albert Hall) and broadcast on ITV.
The now King Charles III was then Prince of Wales and this is his charitable foundation. He attended with (now Queen) Camilla.

- Alamy have some of guests, as well as the performers – here.
Chortle reviewed it here and Jimmy’s review (despite a little tax snark) was better than many of the other performers received.
I have some sympathy for performers on this type of show, especially comedians. For this event the tickets were £125 and it’s very unlikely that everyone on the bill will be to the taste of the audience. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one where I’ve thought “that was great – I’ll watch it again”. Mostly they are an audience endurance test.
Performers included (in no particular order):
- Ben Elton – Compere
- Joan Rivers
- Jimmy Carr – 4 pictures here & 1 meeting Camilla here
- Omid Djalili
- Ed Byrne
- Patrick Kielty
- Milton Jones
- Sanjeev Bhaskar & Helen Lederer
- Jon Culshaw
- Dame Edna Everage
- Stephen K Amos
- Midnight Beast
And a Blackadder sketch featuring Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson and Miranda Hart.
The image below is a still from a backstage video where Jimmy was interviewed about the show. I can’t find it now – but will watch out for it.
