At first glance a few pap photos (from May 20th 2014) don’t look like they could generate much interest (or work for me). Jimmy was heading into the ITV London Studios but, despite a good delve around, I can’t find which show he was recording.
So far – so not very exciting.
The Daily Mail ran a story (here) with the headline: He’s got money to burn! Tax-dodger Jimmy Carr uses a £10 note as his takeaway coffee holder
Except he wasn’t…within the story they have blown up an image and it’s actually a novelty napkin, printed with the image of a tenner (lots of people in the comments saying they had bought them). It’s clearly soaked and has too many layers to be a £10 note – but the DM really doesn’t like Jimmy, so why let a bit of fiction get in the way of a clickbait headline?
Especially as it allows them to bring up his 2012 tax issues. Again.
They also mention him getting some “you’re not wanted” heckles at a gig at the Hackney Empire (tax related). The article says that he was the headline act – but fails to mention that he was giving up his time to support a charity event (on my list to write about).
And then we have some Google AI nonsense, just to make my searches even more torturous.
This is completely wrong as the I Can’t Sing press night was on March 26th 2014 – despite AI being SOOOOOOOO very confident.
On the evening of May 20th 2014 Jimmy was gigging at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley on his Funny Business tour.
