One of Jimmy’s earliest jobs as a writer was on Meet Ricky Gervais in 2000. The writing team for this single series of 6 episodes (commissioned by C4) was the same group that would take Rubbernecker (a revue show) to the Edinburgh Fringe (image below).

The show’s Producer was Iain Morris – who would go on to work with Jimmy on an XFM radio show (they were co-hosts – see here) and as Executive Producer on several of Jimmy’s stand-up DVDs.

Morris then went on to produce The Inbetweeners (which Jimmy loved and would eventually end up as host of the 2019 special, Fwends Reunited).
