BFQ Anniversary 2007

To celebrate 25 years of C4 we were given a Big Fat Anniversary quiz (BFQ). As it was C4’s birthday the show was focussed on their TV output – so you get a nostalgia trip of weirdness and controversy as well as clips of Jonathan and Carol from 1987.

The outfits in some of the clips are particularly distressing (although no where near as bad as the 5 year old singing Sheena Easton).

Broadcast on C4 on November 2nd 2007 it featured:

  • Alan Carr & Jack Dee (The CarrDees)
  • Carol Vorderman & Frank Skinner (A&D)
  • Richard Ayoade & David Mitchell (The Speccy Nerdy F**knuts – aka Team Three or The IT Boys)

Jimmy starts as he means to go on by suggesting everyone would like to take Carol into Dictionary Corner and give her a “consonant, vowel, consonant, consonant” …and then claims he meant KISS.

For anyone outside the UK – Carol was on daytime Countdown (before Rachel Riley) from 1982 to 2008.

At around 30 mins Ricky Gervais gives the answer to the question he had asked and quips “Jimmy started off like this” (see Rubbernecker). You’ll have to watch it for the context.

Also featured:

  • Vic Reeves
  • Anna Friel
  • Quentin Tarantino
  • Ricky Gervais
  • Jonathan Ross
  • Derren Brown
  • Jo Frost
  • Jools Holland
  • Pob and Teddy
  • Jon Snow

As usual Jimmy was on the writing team and Jonathan Ross / Jane Goldman took Production roles (here).
