Countdown 25th Anniv. 2007

Another fact checking post – this time relating to the 2007 episode of Countdown, the 25th Anniversary Special (that is the daytime show, not the mash-up with 8 Out of 10 Cats that Jimmy hosts).

A report in the Dublin Evening Herald said the show would be broadcast on November 3rd 2007 on C4. The paragraph in TV Listings said about the silver anniversary:

“…with the ubiquitous Jimmy Carr looking back over various aspects of the show, in the company of Carol Vorderman and Dec O’Connor”.

The broadcast was actually on the 2nd (the 3rd could have been a repeat) and Jimmy was NOT involved at all (I’ve skimmed through the show on YouTube).

Slightly surprising that it would have the error in the listing as it was published on the 3rd, so it’s not as if it was written about a long way in advance. See BBC website and Countdown Wiki and the full show on YouTube

Perhaps the tag line on this blog should be: The Carr-Tell – correcting t’internet, one post at a time.

It’s like painting the Forth of Firth bridge!
