July 2006 and Jimmy was off to his “holiday camp for comedians” at Just For Laughs, Montreal (JFL)  here. Or Juste Pour Rire, if you prefer.

Back then Netflix wasn’t a thing and the JFL business model offered the comedians a wider audience via Juste Pour Rire TV inc. tie ins.

Specials were recorded and broadcast but a Canadian TV show couldn’t get you a worldwide audience. Back in 2006 what JFL had to offer was still a big deal and, for many years, it laid claim to being the world’s biggest comedy festival.

This year was the JFL 25^th Anniversary, a promotional CD was produced (dated 2007) and you can see from the names that contributed that Canada was the place to be.
