October 4th 2005 was the world premiere of the film Kinky Boots, at the Vue Cinema in Leicester Square. It was followed by an after party at Titanic bar, Brewer Street – which leaves me with a dilemma as to how many tags can be applied to one post. Is it a personal event, charity auction, a paid gig or all three?

First there was the premiere, which Jimmy attended, and the red-carpet photos are mainly supplied by Getty / Alamy.

The auction was in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation and the boots being auctioned off had been designed by celebrities. This image is Jimmy (with auctioneers from Christies) holding a picture of a sketch that is 100 times better than the monstrous frilly boots in front of them.

The “red snakeskin” boots in this picture (with a Union Jack heel) were apparently designed by Elton and Patrick Cox.
