May 2012 was when Ep2 of 8 Out of 10 Cats was recorded and broadcast (details here).

Jimmy, Sean and Jon were joined by Stephen Mangan, Hannibal Buress, Katherine Ryan and Sam Buttery.

Short video on this Instagram post (here) about how Sam (who had been on The Voice) felt a joke fell flat. I’m assuming that part was cut during the edit as I’ve just rewatched the episode and can’t spot anything wrong.

This show was Katherine Ryan’s first appearance and she mentions in her book (The Audacity) that, in relation to recording:

…they send out news packs a couple of days before so that you know what you’ve got to prepare in terms of angles and jokes for the show.

There’s part of a 2021 interview (here) where she was promoting the book and was asked what it was like to work with Jimmy.
