Did Jimmy make a 2^nd appearance on Born Sloppy?

On January 25^th 2003 Jimmy appeared on the C4 music show, Born Sloppy (details and video here, hosted by Sara Cox) and some listings show him as making a 2^nd appearance on the 31^st.

The broad consensus, of the information online, is that the show had 7 episodes – with the 7^th being on January 25^th 2003. I’ve added to the earlier post that disappointing ratings meant C4 cancelled it fairly quickly.

However, the confusing thing is that the British Newspaper Archives have TV listings that show it all the way up to February 19^th 2003 and I cannot find a definitive date for the final show (its demise was being talked about after the FIRST episode).

The BNA are scanning local and national press and what I don’t know is how far ahead TV listings were sent out to them. If this weekly show ended in the last week of January, would they have provided listings up to February 19^th?

Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell whether those shows actually happened as, while some TV listing entries show R or Rpt (to indicate repeats) not all do. Plus, C4 sometimes also showed it again on E4 meaning, at the point that I did my search, there were over 1,100 entries for the show (just in 2003) and it’s impossible to check them all as many just show the show TITLE, with no additional information.

2003 January 31^st show?

This link to the Sevenoaks Chronicle and Kentish Advertiser (here) says there was a January 31^st show, on C4, at 11.10pm with guests:

• Supergrass
• Athlete
• Jimmy Carr

As does this entry for the Hull Daily Mail.

But the Sandwell Evening Mail (here) says the guests were:

• Supergrass
• Macy Gray
• Athlete
• Jimmy Carr

These papers were all printed on the 31^st so the question is – would they have printed out of date TV listing information? Would C4 have advised them of the update?

Unless some further press information gets scanned in – it’s impossible to know whether this went ahead.
