Comedians Still Won’t Open With This One

The Modern Wisdom podcast (here) has had a clip posted about an ancient joke (here on Instagram or below). Number of people in comments saying that it’s about 1700 years old (not 4,000) but this is the risk of telling a story on a podcast. We all have brain farts!

Give the man a break…he would have first investigated this back in 2005 when he was writing The Naked Jape (with Lucy Greeves). This was his first book (here) and is about the history of joke telling and, apart from being a fascinating read, is stuffed with jokes along the way.
