It was 2021 and Jimmy was desperately trying to carry on with his Terribly Funny tour, while lockdowns closed venues up and down the UK. Some never to open their doors again.

TF started in early 2019 (see here) and eventually was re-written and continued as Terribly Funny 2.0.

Tuesday August 31st would see him heading to Cardiff for the first of what turned out to be 4 gigs in Wales, during 2021. The BBC, here, said it would be “the first of his seven rescheduled Welsh dates” but 2021-2 saw him finally get in 9 shows by fitting in 2 on the one night in Rhyl (February 25th 2022).

They explained that it hadn’t been financially viable to run the venue when not at full capacity.

During 2020 Jimmy had performed a fair number of lockdown restricted gigs (see here), some of them outdoors.

He was desperate to perform and, as described on here, he followed whatever rules were being imposed, at the time – but never asked for vaccination proof to enter his shows (regardless of what he joked about).

Woolly, in Cardiff, in 2021. He never seems to age…
