Following on from the post about 8oo10c Series 3.

8 Out of 10 Cats series 4 started on October 20th 2006 and ran through to December 8th of the same year (with a highlights show on December 15th). Jimmy was the host and the Team Captains (with 2 panellists assisting each of them) were Sean Lock and Dave Spikey.

Series 4 episodes* can be viewed on Jimmy’s YouTube channel – see this Playlist.

*Except for episode 8 – which usually means some type of clearance issue.

Panellists were:

  • Ep 1 – Rich Hall, Lee Mack, Boy George, Nikki Grahame (Big Brother)
  • Ep 2 – Piers Morgan, Jason Manford, Scott Capurro, Kirsty Gallacher
  • Ep 3 – Jonathan Ross, Frankie Boyle, Trisha Goddard, Duncan Bannatyne
  • Ep 4 – Reginald D Hunter, Louis Walsh, Sally Lindsay, Rhys Tomas
  • Ep 5 – Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Michael McIntyre, Johnny Vegas, Ulrika Jonsson
  • Ep 6 – Bill Oddie, Lee Mack, Fiona Allen, Griff Rhys Jones
  • Ep 7 – Chris Addison, Vic Reeves, Jade Goody, John Barrowman
  • Ep 8 – Alex Zane, Alan Carr, Joan Rivers, David Gest
  • Highlights show – various

Episode 5 was Michael McIntyre’s first panel show appearance (his 2nd TV appearance overall, after the Royal Variety show). He wrote about his experience in his book (A Funny Life) – see here.

The writing team, for series 4, included:

  • Jimmy Carr (all episodes, all series)
  • Frankie Boyle (episodes 1-5)
  • Charlie Brooker (episodes 4-6)
  • Victoria Coren-Mitchell (episode 4)

Note that, for the writing credits, I just pull out the names of people that went on to be known more for TV / Stand-up and/or Production. The rest of the writers, on series 4 (see here), are talented people that write for a living (for many shows) but are not well known (as in not public figures).
