In 2015 Montreal’s Just For Laughs (JFL) comedy festival ran from July 8th to 28th and Jimmy Carr attended for an 11th time. The post for the actual festival is here.
While in Canada he performed at a charity event that had been organised by JFL and Comedy Gives Back (CGB). The event (on the afternoon of the 23rd) was at the Hope & Cope Cancer Wellness Centre (which supports people living with cancer).
This was his second appearance – having first performed there in 2012 – see here. Details (and some pictures) of the 2015 show can be found in this 2015 year end review (page 22).
This annual event had been started by Australian comedian Adam Hills and this year featured:
- Alonzo Bodden (host)
- Jimmy Carr
- Bert Kreischer
- Shawn Majumder
- Gina Yashere
Jimmy has always enthused about how people in hospice care have such a lust for life, especially loving to laugh. With that in mind he’s not one to shy away from a dark joke and this year he tried out:
I hope I don’t die here. Mainly because the irony would kill me.
